Apocalypse Averted

Whew! I can't tell you how angry I'd have been  if I'd spent the final weeks of the world recovering from knee surgery.  But it appears that we will blunder on a bit longer. Over the fiscal cliff? Maybe. Into a world of armed teachers and tots in body armor? Oh, I hope not.

The light is returning for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere -- may it illuminate our darkness and help us make a better world.

Meanwhile, in very local news: I cooked dinner tonight for the first time since my surgery -- Occupational Therapy at its best. Others did the dishes, I must admit. But, like the sun,  I'm on the comeback trail!

I was glad it didn't end yesterday. I would have been sad if my final hour had been spent typing payslips for people to pay the taxes they owe.. I think we have a good future ahead of us. With your new knee, there'll be no stopping you! (Not that anything seemed to be stopping you much before!)

I share your wishes. Hoping sanity prevails but not sure it will. So glad you're recovering. BTW, I'm sure doing dishes is bad for the knees. :-)

Good morning on the first day of the new calendar of Mayans...if they were around to write it. What everyone's already said, ditto. Maybe calendars are like that too.

I'm glad you (and the sun) are on the comeback trail! Credit for much of your successful recovering can be laid right at your own door, so be proud of yourself.
I'll bet it felt good to be making that dinner.

Oh Vicki, you are definitely making progress. Back in the kitchen again...somehow I hear the lyric of that old tune Back in the saddle again.

Do you think you might be able to "allow" others to take care of the washing up for another month or three? xo
